40-minute documentary celebrates the 100th anniversary of the most iconic guitar body in the world – the Martin Dreadnought
Bethlehem, Pa. (June 3, 2016) – Ballad of the Dreadnought, a 40-minute documentary created by world-renowned American guitar manufacturer C. F. Martin & Co. (Martin Guitar) and advertising agency Lehigh Mining & Navigation, will be screened at the 2016 SouthSide Film Festival in Bethlehem on June 15 and 16. The documentary celebrates the 100th anniversary of the most iconic guitar body shape in the world – the Martin Dreadnought.
An all access pass to the festival can be purchased at southsidefilmfestival.com. Individual film tickets are available at Deja Brew (101 W 4th St.), Cleo’s (21 E 3rd St.) or any of the venues during the festival.
Ballad of the Dreadnought will be screened during the Art Doc Block on Wednesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 16 from 7:20 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts, located at 321 E 3rd St. in Bethlehem. Following the film screening on June 15, the audience will have an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with Amani Duncan, VP Brand Marketing at C. F. Martin & Co., Denis Aumiller, Managing Partner/Creative at Lehigh Mining & Navigation, and Dick Boak, Archivist at C. F. Martin & Co.
Ballad of the Dreadnought is narrated by Emmy Award-winning actor and Martin Guitar enthusiast Jeff Daniels, and includes interviews with some of the most important musicians in the industry: David Crosby, Steve Miller, Vince Gill, Rosanne Cash, Stephen Stills, Seth Avett, Roger McGuinn, Graham Nash, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. These legendary musicians share personal testimonies of how the Martin Dreadnought has inspired and shaped their careers.
Lehigh Mining & Navigation and Martin Guitar collaborated on the script, then directed and produced the film to share a unique story with the brand’s passionate base of guitar enthusiasts. It’s a story that only Martin Guitar can tell.
The SouthSide Film Festival is an annual five-day event featuring international films, guest filmmakers, juried selections, locally produced films, seminars and networking opportunities for filmmakers and fans of independent film.
